Handy Hints to Successful Art Buying Online

You can make your online art purchasing experiences a lot of fun, and stress-free, if you just take a few moments to follow some tried-and-tested advice.
These hints will give you the very best chance of finding quality works of art, and receiving the art in perfect condition.

1) If you see a piece of art you like on a favourite artist's Blog, don't be afraid to request a couple more photos of the work. Most artists will happily oblige. You might like to see close-up detail of some section... or perhaps an image to confirm the coloring is consistent.

2) Look for the artist's email address. Apart from a direct email contact, artists often post contact phone numbers. They do this for a reason. They would like you to phone them. So do it! If you'll feel better talking to a 'real person' make the call. But I would always recommend making direct email contact with the artist.It's helpful to have a line of communication from the point when you make your purchase, to the point when the work is dispatched to you. Most artists also would like the opportunity to follow up and ensure the work has arrived safely. Don't simply place your order and make your payment. Take the opportunity to communicate with the artist. It will make the whole process run more smoothly.

3) Consider purchasing more than one piece of art at a time.If you fall in love with the work of a particular artist, consider purchasing a piece and leaving it with the artist. Then, when you see another work by the same artist you wish to purchase, ask for both pieces to be sent together. This will reduce freight costs considerably. Most artists will be happy to hold a paid artwork in storage, especially if they realise it's because you wish to purchase a second piece.

4) Email the artist and ask them if they have any artworks not yet posted on their blog.Some artists don't have the time to post every piece on their blog. Or some pieces are displayed, and then taken down after a time. It doesn't hurt to ask the artist to email images of any works they have in their 'stock room'.... and it can be a way to discover secret treasures.

MY WORK

I have been painting shoes as art for over twenty plus years, it is a personal passion of mine that i have enjoyed sharing with thousands of clients around the world.
My work is varied, i do have paintings in my archives for sale, if there is something special in mind just drop me an email, i do a lot of commissioned work as well, i sometimes get clients who want me to paint their favorite pair of shoes, they send me a picture or the shoes themselves.
Most of my work is based off of designs that i have done in real shoes over the years, being a working shoe designer i have a lot of ideas and enjoy putting them down and expressing them in my artwork.
My prices do average from $300.00 to $6000.00. I enjoy reaching all types of clients with all different budgets in mind.

THOUGHTS

I have been designing shoes in Italy for my entire career and i have had the good fortune to work with some of the most recognized names in our industry.
In 1985 while working with Roger Vivier i met Andy Warhol and to make a long story short, it was Warhol who encouraged me to pursue my paintings of shoes as you view them today.
My work is a part of who i am and is a part of my love for shoes and for the life and joy that they bring to so many people around the world.
I am often asked the question, what brings me more satisfaction to design a shoe or to paint a shoe and capture it in a painting?
I love both but i must say that painting a shoe as art, taking a sketch or scribble of an idea and making it into a painting that hangs in someone's home, office or store gives me an exceptional feeling of personal joy and happiness.
